KALITA WAVE MADE SIMPLE
This easy, portable filter wins over coffee enthusiasts and beginners alike. Its wavy contour is a favourite to serve to crowds or for single-use and it’s simple method and flat bottom helps for even brewing and extraction with room for little to no error. THE METHOD: Place Kalita Wave atop your mug or pitcher and slowly pour a hot spiral over your fine to medium ground coffee. THE SECRET: Is all in the pour! Getting that spiral down is the secret to covering all of your grounds and ensuring an even extraction. THE RESULT: A sweeter, fuller-bodied brew with a hint of acidity.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Kalita Wave Dripper
- Paper Filter
- Beaker or Cup
- Kitchen Scale
- Gooseneck Kettle
- 23 g Medium – Finely Ground Coffee
HOW TO BREW
- Lightly wet the paper filter and let the excess drain out into Kalita Filter
- Place paper filter into Kalita Wave
- Place Kalita Wave and Filter onto scale and tare scale to 0
- Fill with 45g of medium to fine ground coffee
- Slowly pour hot water in a spiral motion over grounds
- Watch as CO2 is released, also called the bloom
- Lift and firmly set the dripper down to distribute and level the coffee for an even extraction
- Let all 350g of water drip
- Serve from beaker or cup
