Josh made his way into the shop about eight weeks after we opened. After a pour over, and a short chat with Min, he knew he wanted to be a part of the team. He applied by the end of the week, and was on staff a few days later.
Josh grew up in small town Ontario, moving to the Lower Mainland shortly after his High School graduation. After studying music for two years, He took up a day job in customer service, while freelancing in graphic design and branding.
Always being interested in coffee, working as a barista was something he’s always been interested in. Josh now works full time at Timbertrain as both a barista, and our in-house designer / media manager. If you’re wondering if Josh is currently blogging about himself in the third-person, the answer is yes, he is.
In order for us to get better acquainted, I’ll spend some time answering the questions I asked Eric, the last time we did a Barista Profile:
What is your favourite way to drink your coffee?
I try to mix it up, but right now I’ve been drinking a lot of espresso.
What’s your favourite non-coffee drink?
I have a pretty unhealthy dependance on energy drinks.
What is you favourite spot in Vancouver?
I <3 Gastown.
What is your favourite TV show?
Well that’s a loaded question. I’ll say “Game of Thrones.”
How do you spend your day off?
A mix of sleeping in, playing music, annoying my housemates, and hanging out with friends!
If you could do anything else (not coffee related), what would you do?
I’ve always wanted to be in the cast of a sit com.
Well, hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me a little better, be sure to say hi next time you’re in the shop!
